Having a vision - how a company or a country is expected to thrive in the future - is a central component of planning. Accepting that the future environment will change over time, and understanding how the vision will need to be bolstered to reflect these changes is part of the task. Scenarios are employed to assess future changes and are therefore used to improve the process of developing a vision and creating a better one.
