Following six years of successful workshops with the London School of Economics, Scenario Development now offers its AIDS Scenarios workshop in Venice, Italy!
Scenario building - planning for a future with HIV/AIDS
A tool for political and socio-economic dialogue.
AIDS presents long term problems - both in its impact and in its possible solutions. Taking the long-term view on the impacts of the epidemic, of policy decisions and through engagement with key stakeholders will be critical to ensure a dialogue on the political, social and economic basis. Building scenarios enables such a dialogue.
This selective workshop is aimed at senior professionals in the private and public sectors and from NGOs.It will guide participants through a methodology of using scenarios, understanding change as it occurs, understanding what scenarios are, as well as how to work with existing scenarios. The sessions will be interactive and strengthened by the high-caliber of experienced and skilled participants.
The setting. Venice provides a unique and relevant backdrop to this workshop. Venice was ravaged twice by the plague, spread from Europe via commerce and trade - an early precursor of globalisation and of infectious diseases. Some argue that the plague of the 1630s marked the onset of the Venetian downfall.
On the lighter side, Venice is a unique city offering spectacular views and an opportunity to become immersed in a special atmosphere unlike any other in the world.
The workshop will be held at the stunning and recently renovated to its former glory Molino Stucky Hilton on the island of Giudecca affording the best views over Venice. The Hotel offers a complimentary boat service between the Molino Stucky Hilton and Piazza San Marco and Zattere in Venice. This transfer takes about 10 minutes. Scenario Development have negotiated a discounted group rate of approx 250 Euros for a double room at the Hilton. If you would like to avail yourself of this offer, please select the appropriate box on the registration form.
The sessions run from 9.30am to about 5.00pm on both days.
Registration deadline: March 14, 2011. Registrations after this date can only be considered under special circumstances - please enquire. Online registration is now open!
